A Brief Look At The Apple iPad

Let's welcome the latest gadget addition from Apple — the iPad. Designed to fill a new niche between netbooks and cellular phones, the Apple iPad is a tablet device that is equipped with a 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen with Multi-Touch capability display. Think of it as an iPhone with a much bigger screen.

Apple will be offering two types of iPad, one with WiFi and one with WiFi, GPS chip and 3G connection built-in. The price range of the WiFi only iPad will start from US$499 for the lowest spec, while the 3G iPad will start from about $650.

Apart from offering a full web browsing experience, apps, and game playing feature, the Apple iPad will go head to head with Amazon's kindle in the e-book selling department as it introduces its iBookstore.
