More Than A Million Units Sold: iPad Selling Like Hotcakes
After its initial release about a month ago, Apple reported that the iPad has sold a staggering amount of more than 1 million units. This huge number of sales was achieved faster than its iPhones sibling. It took the iPad only 28 days to reach this milestone, while the iPhones did it in 74 days.
This news surprised even Apple, as it struggled to meet demand. Due to the overwhelming domestic demand, the launch date for the overseas market has been delayed by about a month.
Along with the iPad, Apple reported that 12 million apps have been sold. Meanwhile, in what seems to be a good sign for book publishing industry, Apple's iBookstore managed to sell about 1.5 million e-books.
