Well, the big Apple secret is out: The Apple iPad 2. It's thinner, lighter and faster than its predecessor and it has, without its engineers and marketers intending to, pushed the prices of the iPad down. What's in the iPad 2 that the original iPad (or iPad Classic, as some technology bloggers are calling it) does not have? For starters, the iPad 2 has the dual-core A5 chip that is more powerful than the iPad's A4. What this means for the iPad 2 owner is faster surfing and better gaming-two essential features that we all look for in a gadget.
The iPad 2 has cameras, one in front for Apple's much-vaunted FaceTime and the other in the back for shooting HD videos and capturing images that you can view using Photo Booth. What is perhaps the iPad 2's most noticeable advantage over the classic iPad is its size. No, the iPad 2 isn't bigger or smaller, it's just thinner-33 percent thinner! This also translates to a lighter frame, 15 percent lighter than the first iPad. So is the iPad 2 a good investment? If you don't have a tablet, getting the iPad 2 should be an easy decision. If you own a tablet, including the classic iPad, it's still a good idea to invest in the iPad 2, provided you have the funds to spare.
